Who does BBQ in the Winter?!? We do! Welcome to 2018 people! I wanted to kick this one off welcoming you to the new year with a comfort series like we did at the kick off of 2017. Hometown BBQ is one of those spots that I have been trying to get to for some time now. Frank recently mentioned it to me and I was all like Hell Yeah! and junk.
Hometown does a combination of St. Louis and Texas style BBQ but they call their style “Brooklyn BBQ”. (That will never take off) They have some amazing flavors cooking up deep smoked briskets, fabulous ribs and I have read that the cornbread is like crack. The perfect combination of bready, cakey goodness that works perfectly for some good BBQ.
This is the perfect time to take advantage of this spot which usually has about an hour + wait time. I presume in January we will not have that much of a problem providing us with the perfect opportunity to get some slow and low cooked BBQ.
Join us as we get this chow down of epic proportions on @ Hometown BBQ. We will follow that up at a local well-known historical pub named Sunny’s. Sunny’s has been around since 1890’s and is perfectly situated to end cap our night with some bluegrass music and brew.
Join us for an epic night as we kick off 2018 with some great food, history, and music. This will definitely be a night to remember in a lesser known fantastic bastion of the city.
P.S. Keep in mind there is a downtown ferry that goes to Red Hook. For some of you this may be easier. You can find the details here: https://www.ferry.nyc/routes-and-schedules/route/south-brooklyn/
