With the weather getting cooler I feel the chill in the air. I still wish it was warmer so I am taking you to a get a little slice of Hawaii in NYC. The oasis is MAKANA located in East Harlem. Makana has been around for a while serving up a taste of Hawaii to NYC natives and visitors alike for years. For those that don’t know Hawaiian cuisine is a mix of the native culture’s food with some Asian influence due to their neighboring proximity. Dishes feature lots of fresh & cooked fish, Roasted pork and SPAM, yes SPAM!
Makana keeps it authentic with dishes like Loco Moco, Poke, (If you don’t know about Poke check out our article on CulinaryFoolinary.com, Sushi, Teriyaki based dishes and more). We will be going to get some of these amazing comfort food dishes to sate our bellies and deliver a taste of the tropics; for atleast a few hours. Join us for this flavor pop in a great space featuring amazing food in East Harlem by RSVPing at the Meetup link below:
P.S. There will be Levain afterwards! Holla!
